Hardware Hacking Hands-On Workshop
January 24, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Join us as we start actually hacking on some embedded devices!
Open for all experience levels! No cover charge. Foundational hacking background info will be covered as-needed.
Learn how to defend your own home network devices. Some experienced hardware hackers will be present with a large box of practice hardware targets and for over-the-shoulder help.
We’ll also have a variety of tools for talking to hardware, including SPI, JTAG, Serial, etc.
Please bring a laptop, Linux or OSX strongly preferred. (VMs can work, but the USB support can be dodgy with the hardware dongles).
This meetup will recur the last Friday of the month at 7pm at the Prelude Institute!
We may not get all the way through something in one go, but over a
month or three we can cover a _lot_ of ground. If you have something you
really want to take apart, bring it in! We’ll help.
If the class is all beginners, we usually target an old voting machine, pictured above… If it’s all experts, we can go as deep as side channel attacks on crypto, so… fun for all ages!
